William "Bill" H. Paulman

William "Bill" Paulman, 87, of Wolbach died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Vicar Marcia Dorn will officiate.

Interment will be held in Hillside Cemetery with military honors at graveside by Ray Mapes American Legion Post #236 of Wolbach.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the church in Wolbach.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Paulman was born March 27, 1927 to Will and Hazel (Zauler) Paulman in Sutherland, Nebraska.

Bill grew up in Sutherland and attended school there.

He started driving truck. He joined the United States Army on November 9, 1945 and re-enlisted in the Air Force for 3 years and spent that time in Alaska. He was honorably discharged on August 30, 1948.

Bill and his brother purchased a farm near Wolbach and Bill and his parents moved there. They later moved into Wolbach and Bill worked at James Produce, Midland Produce and Farmers Co-op Oil and Wagner Service.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Vopat on May 12, 1957.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ray Mapes American Legion Post #236 of Wolbach, and the Wolbach Fire Department.

He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting and had always enjoyed camping and vacation trips. He loved seeing and having his family around him.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn of Wolbach; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon & Vickie Paulman of Grand Island; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra & Dave Koperski of St. Paul, Ronda & Bob Evans of Grand Island and Wendy & Ed Carlin of Spalding; grandchildren, Amanda Barnes, Travis & Mitchell Paulman, Scott Koperski, Melissa & Cody Franzen, Will, Sarah, Nick Carlin; great grandchildren, Taylor, Dakota and Haven Franzen; one sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Frank Miller of Elk City, OK; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Roger, George and Floyd Paulman and a sister, LaVon Houser.
