William R. Jensen, 54, of Conroe, TX died Saturday, March 20, 2010 in The Woodlands, TX fifteen months after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. The Reverend Robert Carlson, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Dannebrog. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the ASPCA, your local Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society.
Bill was born October 8, 1955 to Carroll and Eda Mae Jensen, in Norfolk, NE.
He attended the University of Nebraska, where he graduated in 1978. He was a member of Beta Sigma Psi fraternity.
Bill married his college sweetheart, Dawn Kellett Jensen, who was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband for 33 years.
He made a lifelong career in the field of information technology working in the oil and gas business with Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK, Champlin Petroleum in Enid, OK, Union Pacific Resources while in Coppell, TX, then relocated to Conroe, TX to work with Anadarko Petroleum.
Bill and his wife were avid sailors and traveled extensively. Bill loved to listen to music and enjoyed collecting art from their many travels. He loved computers and was often called upon by neighbors and friends for his "IT" expertise. He was also involved with the Junior Achievement Program mentoring 4 th grade students. He loved to be around people and was happiest when he wassailing, sipping a cocktail and watching a beautiful sunset with his wife and dearly loved cats, Cali and Opal, by his side.
He had a joy for life and lived by the phrase "life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take your breath away." Thanks so much to the countless number of friends and family who have shown so much love and support these past few months. We will all cherish our wonderful memories of Bill. Survivors include his wife, Dawn; mother Eda Mae Jensen of Norfolk; brother, Greg Jensen and his wife, Janet of Vienna, VA; sister Jensen Badaa and her husband Malek along with his niece and godchild, Natasha Badaa of Novato, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Jensen.
