Victor E. Nitsch, 92, of Boelus died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Cathryn Love will officiate. Interment will be held in Ebenezer Cemetery near Boelus.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Nitsch was born November 4, 1922 to William and Inger (Enevoldsen) Nitsch in rural Rockville, Nebraska.
He attended District 25 rural school to the 8th grade.
He then returned home to farm and helped take care of his parents. He raised cattle and crops, mainly wheat.
Victor was a private man and was a kind individual.
He loved to listen to polka music and western music; especially to KRVN and Big Joe Polka Show. He enjoyed traveling with his parents to California, Winnipeg, Canada, Minnesota and to Seattle World's Fair. He liked to attend farm sales, playing cards especially games of sheephead, pitch and pinocle. Victor enjoyed his nieces, nephews and their families.
He is survived by four nephews and their spouses, Eugene & Joyce Nitsch of Boelus, Quentin & Janice Nitsch of Boulder City, NV, Gordon Nitsch of Coalinga, CA and Douglas & Doris Nitsch of Arcata, CA; three nieces and their spouses, LaVera Mae & Harold Franssen of Boelus, Ima Jean Kruse of Grand Island and Linda & Rich Nelson of Boelus; many great nieces & great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers & sisters-in-law, Clarence & Freida, Julius, Edward & Lucille & Rudolph & Eunice Nitsch, one sister Julia Nitsch, two nieces, June Nitsch & Janet Nitsch, one nephew, John Kruse and one great niece Tonya Nitsch.
