Vangie Ingram

May 24, 1920 — October 2, 2018

Evangeline “Vangie” Ingram, 98, of St. Paul, formerly of Cotesfield died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Pastors Mike and Cheryl Anderson will officiate.  A private family inurnment will be in Dannevirke Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Howard County Medical Center or the donor’s choice.

Vangie was born May 24, 1920 in Scotia to Henry and Lena (Vogt) Hermsmeyer.  She attended Scotia schools and graduated from Scotia High School in 1938.

She worked at various businesses in the Scotia area and then at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island.

Vangie was united in marriage to Derrell Ingram on June 30, 1947 in Phillipsburg, KS.

They lived on the Hiram Wittwer farm until 1955 when they moved to a farm by the Loup River in the Cotesfield area.

After Derrell’s death in 1990, she continued to live on the farm until 2004 when she moved to Matelyn Retirement Community and the Brookefield Park in 2018.

Vangie said Matelyn Retirement Community and Brookefield Park were her “homes” after she moved from the farm.  Thank you for making Vangie’s last 14 years so special.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Delores & Gordon Rubenthaler of Clarkston, WA and Diane Ingram of Grand Island; four grandchildren, Rudy (Elaine) Rubenthaler, Randy (Linda) Rubenthaler, Laura (Dane) Sieler and Ross Rubenthaler; five great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and three great great-grandsons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Derrell; four sisters and three brothers.
