Steven Killinger, 54, of St. Paul died Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Friday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Steven was born September 4, 1957 the oldest son of Wayne & Sue (Barr) Killinger at St. Paul, Nebraska.
He grew up on the family farm where he attended Wolbach Schools and graduated from Wolbach High School in 1975.
Steven worked at the Wolbach Locker during his high school year and then purchased it later. He owned and operated it for many years.
He was united in marriage on April 23, 1988 to Jolene Harvey at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. To this marriage there were four boys.
Steven lived in St. Paul, and worked at various jobs, the most recent was Hometown Market and Hardcore 4x4 in St. Paul.
Some joys in his life were tinkering with cars and guns. He also enjoyed helping his friends and family with their needs, horses, fishing, camping, garage sales, travel, holidays and TV & movies. His most recent joys were his grandsons.
He was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church.
His survived by his sons, Roderick Burkhardt-Nagashima & spouse Tomoya of Los Angeles, CA, Colt Burkhardt & wife Kendra of Grand Island, Kirby Killinger & fiancé© Kimberly of Grand Island and MacKenzie Killinger & fiancé© Kourtney of St. Paul; his mother Sue Killinger; two grandsons, Logan & Cordell; four brothers & a sister-in-law, Alan & Jeanine Killinger and Kurt Killinger all of Wolbach, Larry Killinger of Grand Island and Kevin Killinger of St. Paul; two sisters & brothers-in-law, Cindy & Jason Brummund of St. Paul and Tami & Dan Schumacher of Wolbach; his ex-wife and companion Jolene Killinger of St. Libory and many nieces & nephews.
Steven is preceded in death by his father, Wayne, a sister Connie Killinger and his grandparents.
