Sharon Kay Schirm

June 12, 1949 — March 15, 2008








Sharon K. Schirm, 58, of St. Paul died Saturday, March 15, 2008 in St. Paul.



Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.



Mrs. Schirm was born June 12, 1949 in Riverdale, ND to Glen, Sr. and Helen (Kramer) Shriner.



Sharon was raised in Grand Island and attended Grand Island Public Schools. After her schooling, she moved to Iowa for a short time before returning to Grand Island. Later she moved to Howard County where she lived.



Sharon worked as a nurses aid at nursing facilities including Park Place Nursing Home in Grand Island. She worked as a cook at the Skyline Café© and the Senior Center in St. Paul. She also worked at the St. Paul Bakery.



Sharon had numerous hobbies and interests including bowling, cards, fishing, crocheting, craft items such as painting and making dream catchers. She also liked horses, reading, and watching movies. One of her favorite activities was going to garage sales with friends. She loved to spend time with her family, especially grandchildren.



Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Travis Schirm of St. Paul and Robert and Lonna Schirm of Athol, KS; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shairee and Glen Killion of Merna and Jamie Bailey of Sumner; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Glen, Jr. and Janet Shriner, Kevin Shriner and Gary Shriner, all of St. Paul; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Judy and Boyd Cox of St. Paul and Barbara Shriner of Grand Island.



She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tommy Schirm and a sister, Susan Bailey.
