Scot E. Stevenson, 44, of St. Paul died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be held in Souleville Cemetery near Boelus. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Scot was born November 22, 1966 to Elgin & Barbara (McHugh) Stevenson in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was raised in Grand Island and attended school at Shoemaker and Westridge. He graduated from Grand Island Northwest in 1985.
Scot was united in marriage to Bonnie Harvey on March 14, 2009 at St. Paul, Nebraska.
Scot worked several jobs in the Grand Island area as a welder. He last worked in St. Paul until his illness.
Scot's greatest joy was his family and attending his children's activities. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting with black powder, riding horses and drawing pictures. He raced cars for 12 years and liked to work mechanically on rebuilding cars, trucks, jeeps and motorcycles.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church.
Scot is survived by his wife Bonnie of St. Paul; one son, Zachary Stevenson of Grand Island; one daughter, Desarey Stevenson of Grand Island; his mother Barbara of Grand Island; and one sister & brother-in-law, Stephanie & Randy Kowalski of Kearney.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve and his grandparents.
