Ruth A. Marco, 71, of Aurora died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Chad Oakman will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Marco was born to Robert Philip and Elizabeth Ruth (Johnston) Morris on November 30, 1941 at the home of her grandparents, William and Edna Johnston of Wolbach. After her birth, her parents took her home in a suitcase.
She attended school in Wolbach until the 9th grade when her family moved to Green River, WY. She attended Lincoln High School in Green River where she graduated in 1959. During school and after graduation, Ruth worked at the Tasty Freeze in Green River. She was then employed at Little America Truck Stop in Wyoming.
She was united in marriage to Jim Marco on February 4, 1967 in St. Paul. The couple lived in Wolbach from 1967-1970 when they moved to Aurora.
Ruth was a homemaker for most of her life, taking care of her family which she loved dearly.
For 10 years she worked as a CNA at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, gardening and canning, and raising flowers. She loved visiting with people and she and Jim loved to go for rides in the country and enjoy the wildlife and listening to classic country music.
Ruth was a member of the Grand Island Jehovah's Witness Church in which she was a very dedicated and active member.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Aurora; five sons and daughters-in-law, Vance and Marissa Marco of Cuming, GA, Vince and Naomi Marco of Fort Collins, CO, Victor and Dena Marco of Waverly, NE, Toby and Kristi Marco of Abilene, KS and Jim Jr. and Laurie Marco of Gretna, NE; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Ed Hofmann of Aurora; seventeen grandchildren and a grandson, Jim Marco III due in October; six great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Dalson and Eileen Ash of Lake Havasu, AZ; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberta and John Mandros of Lake Havasu, AZ, Phyllis and Mel Stevens of Lyman, UT and Mary Lou and Bud McChesney of Lake Havasu, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
