Ruby A. Harbart, 85 of St. Paul, died Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Services will be 1:30 P.M. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Pastor Mark Mettendorf will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby was born on July 6, 1933 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Christian and Muriel (Smith) Stange. She was raised on a farm southwest of Norfolk. She was united in marriage to Erich Harbart on September 21, 1956 in Norfolk. Her husband worked as a Telephone Clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad. Ruby worked for several businesses while in Norfolk. In 1956 they moved from Norfolk to Columbus where she was a bookkeeper for Kosch Manufacturing. They moved to Pickrell in 1960 and Central City in 1962 where she worked at Safeway and Jim McDonald’s Clothing Store. In 1977 they moved to Neligh where she worked at White Grain and the Reinke’s Farm and City Service Inc. as a bookkeeper. She also managed Antelope Country Club. In 2009, they moved to St. Paul. Erich passed away on January 25, 2016. Ruby enjoyed playing cards and loved to golf. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Marianne Harbart of Sterling, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Rodney Meyer of St. Paul; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Irene and Gene Shaw of Duluth, MN; nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Doris Stange, Clyde and Martha Stange, Ray and Thelma Stange, and Ralph and Marg Stange.
