Robert L. “Bub” McCray, 93, of St. Paul, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Reverend Marcia Dorn will officiate. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach or the Wolbach Community Center.
Mr. McCray was born November 22, 1922 on a farm near Palmer in Nance County to Hubert and Harriet "Hattie" Stark.
He first attended school in Nance County District 51, then in Cushing and Wolbach Schools.
After his schooling Robert began farming between Wolbach and Palmer and continued to farm until his retirement.
He moved to Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul in December 2011. He lived there until January 2015 when he moved to Brookefield Park in St. Paul
Robert enjoyed attending farm and cattle sales.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Emily McCray of St. Paul; a sister, Louise Wondercheck of Fullerton; nieces and nephews, Danny and Gary McCray, Janice Rose, Dennis Berney, Shirley Jensen, Ron and Wayne Wondercheck, Jerry, Tom John and Jim Cyza, Joan Hawley, Jean Smets, Lynn Simonson and Cindy Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Everett McCray; two sisters, Doris Berney and Leila Cyza; two nieces, Sharon Mason and Lana Kay Gonsior and a nephew, Harold Wondercheck.
