Robert L. Brownlee, 70, of St. Paul, passed away on August 27, 2021, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 A.M. on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Father Vince Parsons will be presiding. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.
Robert was born on May 26, 1951, to James and Virginia (Culver) Brownlee in Clarinda, Iowa. Bob grew up on a farm in rural Farragut, IA. He was involved in 4-H and had a love of animals, especially Horses. Robert received his education at Farragut, Iowa where he graduated in 1969. He went on after High School to Iowa Western Community College and spent a life long career being a Welder. He continued throughout his life enjoying fishing, camping, his grandkids, and his love for horses. Especially his horse, "Charlie". Charlie wouldn't let anyone ride him except Bob, and "Charlie" knew better than to act up while Bob was riding him. He had a very special bond with his twin sister, Becky.
Robert married the love of his life, Jackie (Fithen) on January 19, 1977 in Shenandoah, Iowa. They moved to Grand Island in 1978 and later to rural Wolbach & St. Paul where he spent many years working for Merrick Machinery and New Holland.
Those left to cherish the memory of Robert include his wife of 44 years, Jackie; daughter, Cory Gordon of Shenandoah, IA; sons, Nate Morris Brownlee of Clarinda, IA and Chris Brownlee of St. Paul, NE; a brother, David Brownlee (Paula) of Farragut, IA; twin sister, Becky Shull (Tom) of Farragut, IA; sister, Joy Hall (Conrad) of Sidney, IA; sisters-in-law, Helen Brownlee of Shenandoah, IA and Connie Manchester (Richard) of Mason City, IA; five grandchildren, Grace Gordon, Jake Gordon (Rachel), Autumn Brownlee, Joe Morris, and Rheanna Brownlee.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glenn Brownlee; nephew, Tim Manchester; father-in-law, Harry Fithen; and mother-in-law, Doris Fithen.
