Raymond “Ray” Louis Zuehlke, 98 of Palmer died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Father Rayappa Konka will celebrate the Mass. A lunch will follow the Mass at the Sweet Shoppe in St. Paul. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer, NE.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in lieu of flowers. Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.
Ray was born on August 4, 1920 in Palmer, NE to George and Josephine (Mueller) Zuehlke. He attended school through the 8th grade and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from June 12, 1942 – January 3, 1947. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to the farm west of Palmer and farmed all of his life.
Survivors include his nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Edward Zuehlke, George Zuehlke, and Louis Zuehlke; 7 sisters, Augusta Petersen, Mary Ziller, Lucy Baasch, Margaret Lilienthal, Ann Tracy, Cecelia Zuehlke, and Julia Schubert.
