Quentin R. Leetch, 72, of St. Paul died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at CHI St. Francis in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday with a time to visit with the family from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Reverend Marcia Dorn will officiate. Military honors will be held after the service by Mickelsen Larkowski American Legion Post #241 of Dannebrog.
Inurnment will be in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
Memorials are suggested to the Dannebrog Ball Association.
Mr. Leetch was born March 21, 1944 at home near Dallas, SD to William and Earlateen (McKenzie) Leetch.
Quentin was raised in the Dallas area and attended country schools to the 8th grade. He then attended White River High School where he graduated in 1963.
He entered the United States Navy on June 28, 1963, serving in Vietnam. He received his discharge on August 5, 1969.
He was united in marriage to Connie Engelke in Grand Rapids, MN.
They lived in the Seattle area where Quentin worked in construction. He moved to Grand Rapids, MN until 1972.
Quentin was married to Deborah Cole on June 26, 1972 in Warroad, MN. They moved to Grand Island in the fall of 1972 and shortly after he started his own contractor business in Dannebrog.
He did all types of carpenter work for many people through the years.
He retired in 1995 because of health issues.
Quentin enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. He was involved in area sportsman clubs and trap shooting.
He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Quentin was a former member of the Dannebrog Fire Department and the Mickelsen Larkowski American Legion Post of Dannebrog.
Survivors include three sons, Jason Leetch and Mandy of Salol, MN, William Leetch and Mandy of Thief River Falls, MN and Tony and Tina Leetch of Champlin, MN; three daughters, Laura and Brian Bachelor of Minneapolis, Lisa and Rich Gillette of Cedar Grove, WI and DeAnna and John Motta of Belgium, WI; 16 grandchildren with another one expected in November; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Denny & Shelly Leetch of Lakeland, FL and Junior Leetch of Lincoln; and two sisters, Alice Kopiasz of Beaver Crossing and Marilyn Morris of Grand Island.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Leetch; an infant sister, Clementine and a sister, Margaret West.
