Phyllis M. Miller, 92, of St. Paul died Monday, June 22, 2015 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul with Reverend Martha Voigt officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Valley County Hospice or the St Paul Fire Department.
Mrs. Miller was born August 26, 1922 in St. Paul to Henry and Margret (Ogard) Jorgensen.
Mrs. Miller was raised in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1940.
She taught in rural schools in Howard County.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Stanley Wolinski on January 9, 1946 in St. Paul. The couple lived in Elba until 1952 when they moved to
St. Paul. She worked as a seamstress from 1946-1966, doing sewing for people, making dance costumes and many different items for family members.
After her husband Stanley died on March 30, 1966, Phyllis worked at St. Paul National Bank until 1970.
On May 31, 1970, she was united in marriage to Jacob Miller in Grand Island. The couple moved to Grand Island where they lived until 1980 when they moved to St. Paul.
Her husband Jacob died on April 5, 2003 and Phyllis continued to reside in St. Paul. She moved to Matelyn Retirement Community in January 1999.
She loved to do counted cross stitch, which she has done for over 40 years and play cards.
Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Carl Mogensen American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119, both of St. Paul. She was also a member of a sewing group after she moved back to St. Paul in 1980.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Darrell Roth of Omaha, Janice and Ken Kavensky of Indianapolis, and Deborah and Dale Rasmussen of St. Paul; two step sons and spouses, Richard and Arlene Miller of St. Paul and Ron and Ann Miller of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Susan Miller of Bennett, NE; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darold and Dorothy Jorgensen and Eugene and Carolyn Jorgensen, all of St. Paul; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lucille Mahrt of Grand Island and DeAnn & Jack O'Hara of Grand Island.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Stanley Wolinski and Jacob Miller; two brothers, Lyle and Dale Jorgensen; a sister, Helen Goering; and a step-son, Randall Miller.
