Phyllis C. Meyer, 85, of St. Paul, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at her residence at the Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Mike Reiners will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or to the family's choice.

Phyllis was born May 30, 1927 on the family farm near Grand Island to Berney and Edith (Herman) Schimmer.
She grew up near Grand Island and attended school at District 28 southeast of Grand Island.
After her schooling she worked at home helping on the farm.
She was united in marriage to Lemoine Meyer on September 18, 1946 in Grand Island.
The couple first lived near Abbott, NE until 1969 when they moved to a farm west of St. Paul near Midway where they were engaged in farming. Phyllis was a farmwife and she loved helping around the farm, gardening and raising chickens. She also carried the heavy feed buckets to feed the pigs.
They moved to St. Paul in July 1986 and then moved to Matelyn Retirement Community in December 2005.
Her husband Lemoine died on March 24, 2006. Phyllis continued to live at Matelyn until her death.
After moving to St. Paul, Phyllis did some work at the St. Paul American Legion Club and then at the Howard County Community Hospital.
She enjoyed crocheting doilies and afghans and playing cards with her family. She was a wonderful cook and she also liked to can items from her garden. Her family was important to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of St. Paul.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Deb Meyer of St. Paul; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and Greg Eirick of Grand Island and Kristi Morris of Fremont; six grandchildren, Jeremy Meyer, Nathan Meyer, Nicholas Meyer and his wife Marlene, Michelle Watson and her husband Jerry, Jamie Eirick and Breane Morris; four great-grandchildren, Jordan and McKenna Watson and Devin and Isaac Meyer; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Murena Meyer of Central City and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Kutch of Parker, CO and Helen Schimmer of Grand Island.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lemoine Meyer; an infant son, Douglas Meyer; one brother, Glenn Schimmer and one sister, Mable Patterson.
