Paul T. Musquiz, of Cushing, entered into rest on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island, at the glorious age of 94.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Pastor Brian Ketelsen will be officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Monday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors.
Paul was born on January 21, 1924 in Broadwater, Nebraska the son of David & Rebecca (Trevino) Musquiz. He grew up in Broadwater, NE, Alice, TX, & Corpus Christi, TX. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1945 serving in Company L, 168th Infantry, Red Bull division, & the European Campaign. He was honorably discharged and was a decorated veteran. He was our hero! After returning from the service, he was married to Antonia Joslin in Alice, TX on August 20, 1948. They lived in Bridgeport, NE from 1957-1964 prior to settling in Cushing where they lived out their natural lives.
Paul’s hobbies were carving wood, carpentry, barbecuing, family get togethers, & just spending time with his family, (especially his grandchildren)! He was musically talented & enjoyed playing the guitar & the accordion. He was of the Methodist faith
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons & daughters-in-law, Paul & Joy Musquiz of Independence, MO, Sam & Janice Musquiz of Aurora, NE, Arnold Musquiz of Grand Island, Jesse Musquiz of Boelus, & Larry Musquiz of Grand Island; daughters & sons-in-law, Betty Peterson of St. Paul, Gloria Ayers of Lexington, Amelia Kelly of Bellevue, Becky Musquiz of Grand Island, Delia & Dennis Beed of Grand Island, Martha & Ken Kowalewski of Bellevue, Linda & Johnny Clancy of Hastings, Sylvia & Jay Rutten of Cedar Rapids, Theresa & Stacey Rust of Grand Island; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; & 7 great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antonia; son, Reynaldo; 3 sisters; & 4 brothers.
