Patty A. Simonson, 78, of Palmer, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her home at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palmer. The Reverend Robert Schilling will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the church in Palmer.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.
Patty A. Simonson was born July 24, 1932 at Palmer to Cranson and Eatheal (Manka) Robinson. She was confirmed and a longtime member at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palmer. She attended Palmer Public schools.
Patty was united in marriage to Allen D. Simonson on July 30, 1948 in Palmer. They resided in Palmer until 1954 when they moved to the family farm north of Worms, Nebraska in 1965. She was employed with Miller and Paine/Brandice-Younkers from 1976 to 1987.
In 2001 they moved into Palmer, August 2007 the couple moved to Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul, and in December 2008 she moved to Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Patty enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Crazy Eight card club. She was a good cook and liked to bake bread. The couple enjoyed dancing and traveling. Patty especially loved her children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events and other activities.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jerry Hostler of Palmer and Sheryl and Larry Blauhorn of St. Libory; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Jin Simonson of St. Libory; eleven grandchildren: Sean Bailey, Vance Bailey, Cy Bailey, Angela Hostler, Nicole Elissami, Aaron Buhrman, Natasha Kleier, Allison Blauhorn, Audra Blauhorn, Sarah Simonson, Elizabeth Simonson; two step-grandchildren: Gina Jones and Kallie Blauhorn; eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters in law Rhoda Hill of Evergreen, Colorado and Mandeline Simonson of St. Libory.
She was preceeded in death by husband Allen Simonson; parents, Cranson and Eatheal Robinson; step-father Vic Blasé©; one sister Bonnie Wunderlich; nephew Ryan Wunderlich; and a son-in-law, Mike Buhrman.
