Myrna S. Greek

Myrna S. Greek, 66, of Wolbach died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at CHI St. Francis in Grand Island at the age of 66 years.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach.  Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Greek was born July 19, 1950 in Genoa to Melvin and Estella (Sanford) Rasmussen.

Myrna was raised in Belgrade where she attended school through the 11th grade.  She attended Cedar Rapids High School for her senior year and graduated in 1968.

She was united in marriage to Mearle Greek on December 1, 1968 in Peace Lutheran Church in Belgrade.

The couple lived in Schuyler.  Myrna attended beauty school in Columbus and was a beautician in Schuyler.  She also worked at Excel Packing.

Myrna and Mearle moved to Wolbach in 1994.  They bought and operated the Watering Hole in Wolbach until 2009.

For the past six years she was employed as a dietary cook at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Myrna enjoyed doing yardwork and housework.  She loved to be with her family and socialize with friends.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry and Yvonne Greek and Tyler Greek all of Wolbach and Chase and Jordan Greek of Grand Island; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Todd Ballentine of North Platte; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Irene Rasmussen of Fort Collins, CO; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Fran Gillentine of Monroe, TN, Joyce Rasmussen of Kentucky, Cathy and Larry Krings of Albion and Brenda Faber of Omaha.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mearle on October 31, 2009; and one sister, Wilma Loughman.
