Patricia A. Petersen, 57, of Grand Island died Monday, November 3, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Reverends Randy Fett and George Wheat will officiate. Inurnment will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. A book signing and a chance to visit with the family will be held on Thursday, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Petersen was born November 25, 1950 in St. Paul to John and Darline (Klinginsmith) Muller.
She attended St. Paul Schools where she graduated in 1969. She then attended Grand Island Business School.
Patricia was united in marriage to Warren Petersen on January 31, 1970 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul.
The couple lived in Grand Island where Patricia worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital as a surgical secretary and librarian for 15 years. She then worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 5 years until her retirement in 2006.
Patricia's first joy was her family. She also liked to golf, bowl, put together jig saw puzzles, cooking and trips to Las Vegas. She had a special love for her cats.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
Survivors include her husband, Warren of Grand Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Stacey Petersen of Kearney; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Cory Gearhart of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Dillon and Allyson Petersen and Samantha and Adriana Gearhart; her mother, Darline of St. Paul; and a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Greg Muller-Joy of Bennet.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; and two sisters, Janet Hohe and Sandra Griess.
