Mrs. Maybelle Payne

Maybelle Payne, 81, of St. Paul was called home to the Lord on December 31, 2008 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.



Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Thomas Hyde will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Aurora Cemetery.



Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Hospice.



Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.



Maybelle was born May 15, 1927 in Aurora, Nebraska to August & Minnie (Buggs) Enderle. Mrs. Payne grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1945.



She married Joe Payne on February 5, 1945 in Mankato, Kansas. Their 64 years together started in California, moving back to the Aurora & Stockham area and eventually building their own home on their farm outside of St. Paul.



She enjoyed many activities including bowling, softball, Birthday Club, and The Methodist Women organizations, but gardening was her true passion.



She held memberships to both the EUB and Methodist churches for the past 57 years and was currently an active member of St. Paul Methodist Church and the UMW. She was very dedicated to her church.



She is survived by her husband Joe; a son & daughter-in-law, Kent & Pam Payne of Aurora, CO.



She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gus, James & Gerald Enderle and sister Winnie Carlson.
