Mary K. Snow, 96, of Cairo died Monday, July 06, 2009 at Tiffany Square Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Martha Voigt will officiate. Interment will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery in Boelus.
Memorials are suggested to the Boelus/Dannebrog EMT's or the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mary was born June 14, 1913 at Arcadia to Henry and Sarah (Lay) Tockey.
She graduated from Grand Island School and shortly after she went to work at the Grand Island Ammunition Plant.
She married Chet Young.
She married Harold Snow.
She received her bachelor's degree in teaching at Nebraska. She taught in Nebraska and later moved to Wyoming where she taught there as well. She received her Master's Degree in Teaching in California. She continued to teach in California for about 35 years. She retired from teaching in California.
In 1995 she moved back to Cairo and in 2001 she moved to Boelus. She moved to Ravenna where she resided in assisted living in 2007.
Mary loved to work with flowers and plants. She was also interested in working with her family's history and geneaology.
Survivors include one son Tom Young of Cairo; two grandchildren, Dana & her husband Brian Tonniges of Cairo and Karl Young of Cairo; five great grandchildren and their spouses, Travis & Melissa Grabowski, Troy & Becky Grabowski, Shannon Tonniges, Joshua Tonniges and Amanda Tonniges; four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chet Young and husband Harold Snow, a son Reginald Young, three sisters and two brothers.
