Marjorie L. "Bonnie" Peterson, 77, of St. Paul died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. There will be a time to sign the book and greet the family on Sunday, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice or the family's choice.
Mrs. Peterson was born March 25, 1931 in Spalding, NE to Frederick William and Mable Viola (Crumrine) Nerly.
Marjorie was raised in Spalding and attended Spalding schools before attending and graduating from Wolbach High School in 1950. She then worked at James Produce in Wolbach.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Clinton Peterson on March 9, 1952 in Wolbach. The couple first lived in Palmer before moving to Burlington, IA where they lived from 1957 until 1970. Marjorie worked for Champion Spark Plug Co. for 10 years in Burlington. In 1970, they moved to Denmark, IA where they lived for 10 years. Afterwards they moved to Hannibal, MO for 12 years. The couple moved to St. Paul in 1992 where they have lived since.
Marjorie was a 49 year cancer survivor.
She enjoyed sewing and going to garage sales.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton of St. Paul; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Joanne Peterson of Douglasville, GA; one daughter, Cynthia Tucker of Dubuque, IA; five grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mary Nerly of Des Moines, IA; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sharon and Lynn Beyer of Aurora and Marie Eynetich of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Carol Starkey, Helen Bernice Nerly and Mable Nerly.
