Lucille D. Lukasiewicz, 95, of Farwell, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery south of Farwell. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4 - 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Farwell.
The family suggests memorials to the Farwell Fire Department or QRT's, St. Anthony's Church or Cemetery or to the Louis Pawloski Community Center because of Lucille's interest in community activities

Mrs. Lukasiewicz was born September 3, 1913 at Omaha to Edward and Veronica (Kanowski) Deminski.
Lucille graduated from Farwell High School in 1930. She taught school for five years after graduation. She attended Peru State Teachers College and Kearney State Teachers College. Lucille played in Maschka's orchestra for a number of years.
Lucille was united in marriage to Ted B. Lukasiewicz, Sr. on May 19, 1935 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The couple farmed west of Farwell for 42 years. When they retired, they moved to Farwell in March, 1977.
Lucille will be remembered as "Grandma" to most of the children in Farwell. She loved dancing in her younger years, playing cards and having family, friends and neighbors in for coffee in her retirement years.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish, the Rosary Sodality, the Western Fraternal Life Association Lodge No. 152 and active in all Senior Citizens activities.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ted J. and Pat Lukasiewicz of Farwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Donald Zavitka of Sun City, CA; 10 grandchildren, Ken and Sheri Lukasiewicz of Ayr, NE, Keith Lukasiewicz and Rachael Fredrick of Elba, Shannon and Tom Greenway of Omaha, Kevin Lukasiewicz and Andrea Christensen of Farwell, Kirt and Tracy Lukasiewicz of Farwell, Stephanie and Mark Schmidt of Hastings, Kip and Shelly Lukasiewicz of Ainsworth, Doug Zavitka and Jane Foster of Cresco, IA and Robert and Penny Zavitka of Queen Creek, AZ; 23 great-grandchildren, Matt Lukasiewicz of Chicago, Lacey and Jon Hughes of Edmond, OK, Lindsey and Travis Hayden of Hastings, Trenton Lukasiewicz of Denver, Dustin Lukasiewicz of Pensacola, FL, Dani Lukasiewicz of Grand Island, Nikki Lukasiewicz of Lincoln, Michaela Greenway and Matt Burke of Omaha, Paul Greenway of Omaha, Angela Lukasiewicz and Brandon Delay of Hastings, Brandon Lukasiewicz and Jenna Wegner of Kearney, Bailey and Paige Lukasiewicz of Farwell, Alex, Vinnie and Samantha Schmidt of Hastings, Sydney and Kolby Lukasiewicz of Ainsworth, Steven Zavitka of Iraq, Sean and Donald Zavitka of Jacksonville, FL and Cortney and Kylie Zavitka of Queen Creek, AZ; 3 great-great grandchildren, Macie Lukasiewicz of Kearney, Mace Burke of Omaha and Jaylie Delay of Hastings; and a sister-in-law, Bea Deminski of Santa Maria, CA.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted, Sr. on September 27, 1985; one grandson, Karl on July 13, 1974; and a brother, Clarence Deminski on May 19, 1996.
