Jeanette D. Couch 72, of St. Paul passed away July 18, 2009 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul after a courageous battle with cancer.



Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday July 23, 2009 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Joseph Javorsky will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Grand Island City Cemetery.



Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.



Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Jeanette was born November 21, 1936 to Wray & Dora (Schuller) Lacy in Grand Island, NE.



Jeanette attended Chapman school and graduated from Chapman High School.



Jeanette was united into marriage to Francis "Junior" Perkins on September 5, 1954 in Grand Island. To this union were born six children Wray, Cynthia, Monte, Kathy, Christie & Julie.



She filled her life as a homemaker and a 4-H leader of the Cow Poke 4-H group. She cooked at Northwest High School. She also worked at Shady Bend Motel, Bosselman's & later worked for Thompson Company in O'Neill, NE.



Jeanette was united into marriage to Eugene Couch on March 1, 1986 in Inman, NE. They were married eleven years. Gene passed away in March 1997.



Jeanette enjoyed bowling, playing cards, making crafts and horses. She was a collector of antiques and other items. She also enjoyed her family. She will be truly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.



She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul.



She is survived by two sons & daughter-in-law, Wray Perkins; Monte & Sheryl Perkins all of Grand Island; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy & Howard Nachtman of Lincoln; Christie & Jim Coventry of O'Neill; Julie & Lewie Crist of St. Paul; fourteen grandchildren & seven great grandchildren; one brother & sister-in-law, Gordon & Marilyn Lacy of Colorado; two sisters & brother-in-law, Marge Husman of Chapman; Waneta & Ray Lilienthal of Greeley, CO; one sister-in-law, Peg Lacy of Grand Island.



She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cynthia, a brother Melvin Lacy, and a brother-in-law Virgil Husman.
