Erna I. "Peggy" McKoski, 87, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Auxiliary services will be presented by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Auxiliary Unit #119 of St. Paul. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5 - 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the Heritage Living Center or the family's choice.
Mrs. McKoski was born May 11, 1921 in Howard County near Wolbach to Jacob and Clara (Nicolaus) Zimbelman.
As a young girl she moved to St. Paul and attended St. Paul schools. She enjoyed playing softball as a pitcher.
Peggy was united in marriage to Roy McKoski on August 30, 1939 in St. Paul. She helped him with their trucking business.
She enjoyed doing embroidery work and fishing. Peggy was very involved with volunteer work. She did much volunteering at Heritage Living Center.
Peggy was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of St. Paul, the Carl Mogensen American Legion Auxiliary Unit #119 of St. Paul and the Bag Ladies.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, James McKoski of St. Paul, David and Jeanette McKoski of Springfield, NE, Michael and Ollie McKoski of Farmersville, CA and Gary and Kathy McKoski of St. Paul; one daughter and son-in-law, Janette and Andy Glause of Worms; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Mildred Zimbelman of Omaha and Harvey and Dorothy Zimbelman of Cameron Park, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on May 22, 2000 and four brothers, Harry, Aldro, Edward and Merlin Zimbelman.
