Mrs. Ella Mae was born October 12, 1929 in Grand Island, Nebraska to William & Milda (Raher) Muhs. She attended elementary school at Alda District 49 and District 1 in Merrick County. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1947.

She was united in marriage to Raymond W. Rubesh in Denver, Colorado on November 6, 1948.

They lived in Grand Island for two years, where Ella worked at the phone company. In 1950, they moved to the farm near St. Paul. She continued to work at the Legion Club in St. Paul where she made salads and catered weddings and she also cleaned Bunker Hill School. She also worked on the farm by helping her husband milk cows and other farm work that needed to be done.

She was very hard working and always had a big garden as well as many flowers and plants that she enjoyed.

Ella Mae loved birds, and cooking for people when they stopped by to see her. Her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were the best. She loved to go to the river to fish and watch the wildlife. She was devoted to her church, her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made a quilt for every grandchild, and loved to sew quilts.

At Christmas she would find a live tree every year, and loved to decorate her home. Her grandchildren spoke of her ability to cook the best Ramon Noodles. She would make the best rice krispy bars, and her remedy for being sick with the cold was hot jello. She would do anything for anyone without thinking about it.

Her grandchildren thought that she had the "fanciest luggage" as well. She would collect sacks from her trips to the grocery store and other retail stores and keep them until she needed to carry something.

She was a devoted member to the Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in St. Paul, 8 & 40 for Women Group, The Purple Heart Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of the Hill Trailers Extension Club and Woodmen of the World Lodge. She was also a member of a "Coffee" Group of which six women would get together to drink coffee, celebrate each others birthdays, talk and laugh. She enjoyed this group of women very much.

Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Allen & Deborah Rubesh of Wahoo, NE; Dale & Beverly Rubesh of St. Libory; one daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Leo Kringle of Ashton; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Patterson, Aaron, Ashley Rubesh, Niccole Kennec, Grant Rubesh, Stephanie, Jacob & Michelle Kringle; five great grandchildren, Bradley Rubesh, Gracyn & Landyn Rubesh, Elly & Abby Kennec; four brothers & sisters-in-law, Eldon Muhs, Don & Barbara Muhs, Doyle & Carol Muhs, Larry & Anne Muhs; one sister & brothers-in-law, Vera & Kay Krueger & Jack Roach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray on August 12, 2003 and one sister LoAnn Roach.
