Ada M. Berggren, 91, of St. Paul died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at her home in St. Paul.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Thomas G. Hyde will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Berggren was born March 3, 1917 in Juneau County, Wisconsin to Louis and Emma (Ormson) Lawrence.
She attended East Lemonweir Lutheran Parochial School near New Lisbon, and was a 1934 New Lisbon High School graduate.
After her schooling, she first worked at Oscar Mayer in Madison, WI. She then worked in Milwaukee and for a short time in San Antonio.
Ada was united in marriage to Cecil Berggren on September 27, 1945 in Elroy, WI. The couple moved to St. Paul where they lived for all of their lives. Ada was a homemaker.
She enjoyed music and she played in the bell choir at Matelyn Retirement Center in St. Paul. Ada loved to send cards to her family and friends, remembering their birthdays and anniversarys.
Ada was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.
Survivors include one son, Robert Berggren of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Robin Keller of Columbus and Mary and Chris Kaskie of Grand Island; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Keller and her husband, Joseph Charbonneau, Andrea Keller and Tiffany Jurzenski, all of Omaha and McKenna Kaskie of Grand Island; one great-granddaughter, Josette Charbonneau; one sister-in-law, Lois Berggren of St. Paul and nieces and nephews.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil on November 28, 1993; two brothers, Gordon and Guy Lawrence; and six sisters, Carol Lawrence, Jessie Anderson, Selma Lauden, Eva Geisler, Marcella Allen and Leora Hoegh.
