Jack C. Rawlings, 80, of St. Paul died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.



Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas Hyde will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery southwest of Archer. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.



Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.



Mr. Rawlings was born December 27, 1928 in Archer, NE to Cecil and Mildred (Suck) Rawlings.



He attended numerous rural schools in Nance and Merrick counties. He then attended high school for two years in Fullerton, then one year in Doniphan and his final year in Central City where he graduated in 1946.



Jack was united in marriage to Aileen Rudolf on November 20, 1949 at the Zion Evangelical Church in Archer.



After his schooling, he farmed until 1959 when he joined Clarence Southard becoming a partner in Southard Implement, which became St. Paul Equipment in 1975.



Jack returned to farming in 1978 where he farmed for twenty years. He continued to keep active around the farm and he also enjoyed raising and working with llamas. In his early years, he liked working with his father and grandfather raising Belgian horses.



Jack served as a board member of St. Paul Bank, in 1984, he served as a board member of the Loup Basin Reclamation District.



He entered Tiffany Square Care Center in June 2006.



Jack was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.



Survivors include his wife, Aileen of St. Paul; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Leslie Rawlings of St. Paul, Terry and Alma Rawlings of Grand Island and Michael and Liz Rawlings of St. Paul; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wendy and Larry Graff and Laura and Allen Horak all of Farwell and Gayle Rawlings of Kearney; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Oren and Janie Rawlings of Apex, NC, Wendell and Joyce Rawlings of Spearfish, SD and Cecil and Pam Rawlings of Grand Island; three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Leota Baird of Raleigh, NC, Delores and Gerald Gleason of Central City and Arlene and Wayne Kirk of Little Rock, AR; and two aunts, Bethel Hild of Cozad and Nita Watkins of Central City.



He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, LeRoy Rawlings.
