Mr. Glenn Harvey Allard

Glenn H. Allard, 84, of Wolbach died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.



Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. The Reverend Joseph Javorsky and Roger Grim, PMA will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 6 - 8 p.m., at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.



Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.



Mr. Allard was born January 19, 1924 at home in Fullerton to Harvey H. and Bertha E. (Adams) Allard.



In 1925, he moved with his family to their farm near Greeley. Glenn attended rural school at Enfield in rural Greeley County and graduated from Greeley Public School in the class of 1941.



He worked the majority of his life as a farmer/rancher on the "Open AD" ranch which he purchased in 1950. He did custom haying in the early years as well as working for Campbell Soups in Fremont, NE and also drove a truck for Jim Holmes, picking up eggs throughout the sandhills.



Glenn was united in marriage to Sharon Peetz on November 8, 1958 in Wolbach.



Glenn and Sharon moved to Wolbach in 2001 after selling the "mini ranch".



Sharon died on April 9, 2004. Glenn continued to live in Wolbach until 2007 when he moved to the Greeley Care Home. In January 2008, he moved to Norfolk where he lived until the time of his death.



Glenn enjoyed fishing, going for drives in the country, picnics, homemade ice cream, watching television and reading westerns.



He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach and a former member of the Spalding Rural Fire Board.



Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, LaDona and Ron Souchek of Lexington and Connie and Doug Peters of Columbus; one son, Chuck Allard of Wolbach; six granddaughters, LeAnn, Lindsay, Jessica, Darcy, Sarah and Heidi; two great-granddaughters, Jordan and Jenna; one brother, Charles Allard of Grand Island; and a sister, Aletha Teply of Greeley.



He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon; and a sister, Lucille Klein.
