Gary D. Chambers, 65, of St. Paul died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Bryan-LGH West Hospital in Lincoln.
Family graveside services will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. The Rev. Joseph Javorsky will officiate. The United States flag will be presented by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul. There will not be any visitation, Mr. Chambers was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mr. Chambers was born July 3, 1943 in St. Paul to William and Hazel (Miller) Chambers.
Gary was raised and attended schools in St. Paul. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1962.
Gary was united in marriage to Linda Eby on July 11, 1964 in Alameda, CA.
He entered the U.S. Navy and served from 1962 until 1966. After receiving his discharge, Gary returned to St. Paul. He first worked at New Holland in Grand Island. He then worked in Grand Island for the Union Pacific Railroad in the machine shop. The couple moved to Rawlins, WY in 1977 where he worked for Union Pacific as a road machinist. He retired in 1995.
His wife, Linda died on March 26, 1996. Gary continued to live in Rawlins until moving to St. Paul 5 years ago.
Gary loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, driving his airboat, motorcycles and all types of outdoors activities. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends. Gary liked to cook and barbeque.
He was a member of the Railroad Machinist Union, a past member of the St. Paul Jaycees and a past member of the St. Paul EMT's and Fire Department.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Traci and David Ebell of Hanna, WY; a son, Todd Chambers of Cheyenne, WY; three grandchildren, Brittany, Keil, and James Bergeron; his mother, Hazel Chambers of St. Paul, a sister, Pat Heese of Denver; a brother and sister-in-law, William L. "Skip" and Phyllis Chambers of Rockford, IL and a close friend, JoAnn Schwieger of St Paul.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Chambers and his wife, Linda.
