Mr. Ernan R. 'Ernie' Wolinski

Ernan R. "Ernie" Wolinski, 71, of Farwell died Sunday, September 21, 2008 after an accident in Farwell.



Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The Reverends Richard Piontkowski and Tom Ryan will officiate. Interment will be held in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery near Farwell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5 - 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Farwell.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials would be sent to the Farwell Fire Department/QRT's or to the family's choice.



Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.



Mr. Wolinski was born on November 4, 1936 near Farwell to Anton and Mary (Gdanitz) Wolinski. He attended rural schools near Farwell and then high school at Farwell Public School.



Ernie then worked for a short time for a rancher in Montana. He then worked in Omaha at a feed mill.



Ernie was united in marriage to Yvonne Lukasiewicz on February 4, 1957 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell.



The couple lived near Farwell where Ernie was engaged in farming. In addition to his farming, Ernie worked for a few years at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island, then for over 25 years at New Holland in Grand Island. Ernie also milked cows.



Ernie had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved tractors and horses. He enjoyed doing search and find puzzles, going to the coffee club in Farwell and listening to Big Joe's Polka Show on the radio.



He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell.



Survivors include his wife, Yvonne of Farwell; five sons and daughters-in-law, Maury and Darlene Wolinski of Farwell, Cory and Kare Wolinski and Kyle and Shelly Wolinski of Elba, Chad and Kellie Wolinski of Urbandale, IA, and Ken and Tammy Wolinski of Aurora; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Larry Woitalewicz of Farwell and Marla and Todd Knecht of Wood River; 12 grandchildren, April Lentz and her husband Jason, Michael Wolinski and his wife, Laura, Trevor Knecht and his financee, Kristy Rickert, Melissa Knecht, Adam Woitalewicz, Dakota & Cash Wolinski, Derek and Melissa Wolinski, Nikki and Ciera Wolinski, Lexie and Tyson Wolinski; 3 step-grandchildren, Stephen McClay and his wife Cassie, Scott McClay, and Tony & Kacey McClay, 4 great-granchildren, Roman and Parker Lentz and Blake and Page Wolinski; 2 step great-grandchildren, Riley and Annie McClay; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Marlene Wolinski of Farwell and one sister, Darlene Pawloski of Omaha.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, MaKayla, and one brother-in-law, Bob Pawloski.
