Margaret L."Peg" Parks, 76, of Palmer died Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer. The Reverend William Stovall will officiate. Interment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Palmer American Legion Auxiliary or to the American Cancer Society.
Peg was born September 7, 1935 in Sumner, Nebraska to Lloyd & Laura (Summers) Potter.
She was raised at Sumner, Nebraska and was educated at Sumner Public School.
Peg worked at TRW Aircraft in California and Campbell Soup Company. She then went to work for Hughs Air-Craft and later transferred to Hughs in Tucson, Arizona.
She was united in marriage to D.L. Parks on September 3, 1983 at Tonopha, Nevada. In 1992 the couple moved to Palmer and resided there.
Peg enjoyed bow hunting, traveling, going to casinos and playing cards. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the St. Paul Women's Bowling Association. She was an avid fan of baseball with her favorite team being the Dodgers as well as an avid fan of football with her favorite team being the Nebraska Huskers. Her greatest love was her brothers & sisters and her many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Palmer American Legion Auxiliary for 30 years and 15 years she was a member of the Palmer American Legion Post #120. She was also a member of the USBC for 15 years.
Peg is survived by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Wilbert & Marie Potter and LeRoy & MaryJane Potter all of St. Paul; sisters, Virginia McCurdy of Wood River and Dot Krance of Palmer and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband D.L Parks on October 26, 2001.
