Mike was born on January 6, 1967, to Helen Cook in Whitefish, Montana. He grew up and attended school in Montana, later moving to Nebraska around 1986 with John and Lori Sewell. He met Barb Gay and the couple soon married on February 14, 1987. They lived in Palmer with their 4 children.
Mike worked at Monfort’s for years when he first moved to Nebraska, then later working for Mamot’s for almost 13 years. His last job was driving trucks for Dinsdale’s for the last 26 years. Mike loved beer, Husker football, and Husker volleyball, but most of all he loved his family. His family was his pride and joy. When he wasn’t at work you could always find him with his family or in the garage tinkering with his old Ford’s or Chevy’s. He was the best husband, dad, and grandpa ever. He loved picking on the grandkids, having water balloon fights, and doing anything outside.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barb Christensen of Palmer; children, Amber and (Michael) Hoback of Chapman, Mary Beth Christensen of Palmer, Katie Christensen (Seth Wilkinson) of St. Paul, and Alex (Chelsi) Christensen of Aurora; grandkids, Mason Hoback, Natalie, Aubrey, and Olivia Christensen, mother, Helen Cook; and several brothers and sisters in Montana; mother-in-law, Mary Gay; along with multiple brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and loved ones and friends in Palmer and the surrounding area.
