Michael L. Harder, 37, of Grand Island died Friday, April 6, 2012 near St. Paul from natural causes.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church Life Center in Grand Island. The Reverend Michael Reiners will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday in the Life Center at the church.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice to be used in support of outdoor children's activities.
Michael was born September 25, 1974 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Robin and Deb (Meyer) Harder.
He was raised in Grand Island and attended Shoemaker and Westridge Schools before attending Grand Island Northwest High School where he graduated in 1993. Michael attended and received his degree from Doane College in 1997. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree from Creighton University in 2003.
After his graduation, he moved to Grand Island where he began working in the Pharmacy Department at St. Francis Medical Center. He also worked in the pharmacy at USave Pharmacy.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, often taking children with him including his niece and nephew, his friend Jordan's nephews, and his other friends' children.
He also was active in breeding and training dogs. Other activities he enjoyed was golfing and playing Co-ed softball.
Michael was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island, the Grand Island Kennel Club, the Verein Deutsch Drahthaar Group of North America and the Delta Kappa Pi Fraternity.
Michael is survived by his parents, Rob and Deb Harder of Grand Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Angela Harder of Grand Island; a nephew, Kaden Harder and niece, Riley Harder; paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Harder of Grand Island; special friend, Jordan Tjaden of Grand Island; his aunts, Patti Tibbetts and her husband Kent of Palmer; Cindy Meyer of Crete; Carol Buhrman of Columbus; and Becky Mauer and her husband Bryn of Fremont and their families; and "Uncle" Jim Harder and his wife Mary of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jennifer Harder; maternal grandparents, Marlon and Mary Lou Meyer and paternal grandfather, Raymond Harder.
