Marvin D. Christensen, 88, of St. Paul died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Carolyn Hellerich will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul with military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial designation to be determined at a later date.

Marvin was the son of George E. and Lillian Mae (Jacobs) Christensen. He was born October 19, 1925 in Howard County southwest of Wolbach.
Marvin attended rural schools in Howard and Greeley counties to the 8th grade. He then attended Wolbach High School where he graduated in 1943.
After he completed his schooling, he worked with his father for a year. Marvin entered in the U.S. Army in 1944 serving in Germany. After receiving his discharge in 1945, he returned home to farm.
Marvin was united in marriage to Joan Pedersen on February 18, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach.
The couple farmed near Wolbach. Marvin also had a dairy farm, did custom corn shelling, and trucked.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of St. Paul, Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul, was a charter member of the Wolbach Saddle Club to which he belonged for over 50 years and a member of the Central Nebraska Antique Tractor Club of St. Paul.
He served on the Farmer's Union Board for 9 years and the Wolbach Elevator Board for over 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of St. Paul; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry and Barb Christensen of North Loup and Randy Christensen of Wolbach; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marliss and Lewis Barth of Dannebrog, Cheryl and Randy Kosmicki of Grand Island and Valerie and Gene Killinger of St. Paul; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Redwine of Grand Island and his loving dog, Red.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
