Marian Lucille Carlson, 84 of North Loup, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the Community Memorial Care Center - SNF in Burwell.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia, NE. Reverend Bonnie Brook will officiate. A time of fellowship and lunch will be held following the service at the Scotia Community Center until 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson’s Association in lieu of flowers.
Marian Lucille (Smith) Carlson, was born at home in Callaway, Nebraska on January 25, 1937 to Donald William Smith and Veva Doris (Headly) Smith.
She was united in marriage to Donald Leland Carlson on May 15, 1959 in Fleming, Colorado.
He preceded her in death on February 29, 2012.
Marian did many different jobs during the years after her children were high school age. At the age of 45 she attended Missouri Southern in Joplin, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family and children.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons & daughters-in-law, Tim Carlson of Butterfield, MO and Lonnie Carlson & Catherine Murphy of Seattle, WA; daughter & son-in-law, Dee Ann & Daniel Roy of Scotia; step-son & step-daughter-in-law, Alan & Kathy Carlson of Eudora, KS; brother & sister-in-law, LaVerne & Joyce Smith of Elkhorn, Iowa; sister, Norma Guge of Kearney, NE; grandchildren, Cody Carlson, Charles Carlson, Amanda Moore, Donald S. Carlson & Kaitlin Roy; and great-grandson, Benson Moore.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Eula Adams.
