Madelyn G. Heiser, 80, of Scotia died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia. Reverend Martha Voigt will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Scotia United Methodist Church.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Madelyn was born June 18, 1933 near Scotia to Harold and Merna (Scott) Keep. She was raised in Howard County and attended school in Scotia.
She was united in marriage to Dean D. Heiser on December 31, 1950 in Downs, KS.
The couple lived in Grand Island before moving to Kenington, KS. The couple moved to Colorado where Dean worked for the Forest Service. Later they moved to Virginia Beach, VA and then to Houston. Madelyn had been employed as a bookkeeper in some of the areas in which they lived. When Dean retired in 1993, the couple moved to Scotia where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Karyn Heiser of Ashburn, VA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jerri and James Spellman of Aurora, CO and Lori and Ellis Keitt of Corpus Christi, TX; seven grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary & Betsy Keep of Dallas, TX; and an uncle Bernard Scott of Aptos, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean on November 21, 2013, an infant son and daughter, and a brother, Larry Keep.
