Lyle B. Klinginsmith

Lyle B. Klinginsmith, 86, of St. Paul died Saturday, December 07, 2013 at Homestead Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Kati Salmons will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. The flag will be presented by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul at the church.
Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00- 7:00 pm at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Klinginsmith was born July 4, 1927 at St. Paul to B.B. and Merle (Hessler) Klinginsmith. He was raised in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public Schools.
Lyle then joined the U.S. Navy and served with the Seabees.
After receiving his discharge, he returned to St. Paul.
He was united in marriage to Ella Rasmussen on May 28, 1948 in St. Paul.
The couple lived in St. Paul where he first worked at his father's tavern. He then was employed for the State Department of Roads for many years, a job from which he retired.
Lyle also worked nights at the American Legion Club and Paul's Supper Club in St. Paul.
He enjoyed playing cards and trips to Las Vegas.
Lyle was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 for 66 years, both of St. Paul. He was also a member of the St. Paul Masonic Lodge #82 AF & AM.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Doris Klinginsmith of Grand Island and David Klinginsmith of St. Paul; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Larry White of North Loup; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Emma Nelson of Grand Island.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ella on May 6, 2001; and three sisters, Darlene Muller, Nellie Gladfelter and an infant sister.
