Lois M. Tibbetts, 94, of Palmer died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the United Methodist Church in Palmer. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Tibbetts was born April 27, 1919 in Palmer to Harry and Elsie (Gammon) Tibbetts.
She attended school at District 4 and then graduated from Palmer High School in 1936. She attended the University of Nebraska where she graduated in 1940.
Lois taught school in Rosalie, Pierce, North Platte, Palmer and at Nebraska Christian School in Central City.
While teaching in North Platte, Lois also worked at the Cantina serving meals to the military troops passing through North Platte on the trains.
Lois lived on the home farm near Palmer until 1954 when she moved into Palmer.
Lois enjoyed gardening, flowers, taking walks, playing the piano and giving lessons.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Palmer.
Survivors include five nephews and spouses, Victor and Linda Tibbetts, Kevin Tibbetts, Kent and Patti Tibbetts, Kenny and Sharon Tibbetts and Kelly and Jody Tibbetts, all of Palmer; two nieces and spouses, Karen and Johnny Forbes of Palmer and Kathy and Dennis Compton of Battle Creek, MI; and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Charles and Kenneth Tibbetts.
