Lois McKoski, 63, of Grand Island died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at her residence in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Carolyn Hellerich will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested Mid Nebraska Individual Services in Grand Island.
Lois was born December 7, 1948 in St. Paul, Nebraska to Frank and Verna Marie (Kyhn) McKoski.
She attended kindergarten while living in Beatrice State Home. They educated her and took her to church there.
In 1997, she moved to Grand Island where she lived at Mid Nebraska Individual Services (MNIS). At Mid Nebraska, they took care of her just like family and they filled her days with many activities.
She enjoyed her stuffed animals especially the ones that played music and looking at family photos. She loved playing with kids that were brought into MNIS. Another favorite of hers was food. She never passed up the opportunity to give a hug and her hugs were the best.
Lois is survived by one brother & sister-in-law, Glen & Diana McKoski of Grand Island; two sisters, Angela Rathbun of Grand Island and Margaret Petersen of St. Paul; five nieces, Lori, Ann, Deseray, Sarah and Elizabeth; eight great nephews and 2 great nieces; and her Mid Nebraska family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Rose Marie McKoski, two brother-in-laws, Lynn Rathbun and Eugene Petersen.
