Lloyd Lorenzen, 86, of Loup City formerly of Farwell died Friday, September 28, 2018 at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell. Celebrating the Mass will be Father Rayappa Konka.
Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church with a wake service at 6:30 p.m.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice to be designated at a later date.
Lloyd was born November 11, 1931 in Grand Island to John and Louise (Muller) Lorenzen.
He attended schools in Grand Island.
Lloyd was united in marriage to Leona Turek on June 18, 1955 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton.
The couple lived in Grand Island until 1964 when they moved to Farwell where they lived for many years.
During Lloyd’s working life, he was employed at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, Bushman Construction and New Holland from which he retired.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and playing cards.
Lloyd was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell, serving on the church council, Knights of Columbus for many years and the Platte-Duetsche in Grand Island. He served as a volunteer on the Farwell Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Leona of Loup City; a son and daughter-in-law, Briant and Kelli Lorenzen of Kearney; three granddaughters, Tara Abdallah and her husband, Elias of Kearney, Melody Gough and her son, Dean of Kearney, and Deanna Ribiero and her husband Franco and their children, Alex, Lucas, Evelyn and Dean of Elkhorn and a son-in-law, Tim Bader of Axtell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Bader; one brother, Louie Lorenzen; and two sisters, Clara Wilhelmi and Helen Pollock.
