Lila M. Pedersen, 86, of St. Paul died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

A private family graveside will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to one of Lila's favorite charities.

Mrs. Pedersen was born September 2, 1928 to Floyd and Bessie (Thompson) Peterson at Palmer, Nebraska.

Lila attended rural school north of Palmer.

She was united in marriage to Melvin Pedersen on June 17, 1946 in Fullerton, Nebraska.

Melvin and Lila made their home in the Cushing area from 1946 to 1975 then moved to St. Paul.

Lila enjoyed working on the farm and raising her family. Gardening and preserving was her pride and joy in those days. She loved to put puzzles together and do cross word puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking and serving Sunday dinners to her many friends.
Lila was a two time colon cancer survivor and a bone cancer survivor. Lila was the last of her six siblings.

She is survived by one daughter & son-in-law, Elaine & Ron Swanson of St. Paul; two sons & daughters-in-law, Lloyd & Liz Pedersen of Gibbon and Glenn & Patty Pedersen of St. Paul; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and step grandchildren.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin in 1998; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice & Walter Steinke, Doris & Cecil Page, Beulah Jensen, Leatha & Robert Barth, Betty & Stanley Pedersen and a brother & sister-in-law, Clinton & Bonnie Pedersen.
