Lewis J. Klanecky, 90, of Wolbach died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his home near Wolbach.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Grace Baptist Church in St. Paul. The Reverends Al Magnuson and Alan Ellison will officiate. Interment will be in the National Bohemian Cemetery near Elba.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Mr. Klanecky was born August 11, 1924 in Howard County near Farwell to Louis V. and Lillian (Stickley) Klanecky.
He attended District 29 rural school and Farwell High School where he graduated in 1942. He then attended Dana College.
Lewis was united in marriage to Irene Brengelman on August 9, 1948 in the Farwell Lutheran Church.
He returned to farm near Farwell for a short time. Lewis owned and operated a service station in Farwell. He also cleaned used refrigerators repainted them and he also painted cars.
In 1956 the couple moved to Grand Island where Lewis worked for the City of Grand Island at the Burwick Power Plant for nearly 30 years and serving as superintendent of maintenance.
Lewis and Irene moved to an acreage near Wolbach and lived there for the remainder of his life.
The couple had taken and enjoyed two trips to Israel. Lewis enjoyed mowing, woodworking and he had built stools, boats, taught people to waterski and learned to do electrical work. He rode motorcycles, worked with CB and HAM radios.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in St. Paul, Gideon's International, Amateur Radio Club of Grand Island and the Christian Motorcycle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of Wolbach, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Al Klanecky and his friend Shirley Sterkel of Wolbach and Lance and Peggy Klanecky of Grand Island; a daughter, Sue Kosmicki of Grand Island; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Irvin Klanecky of Omaha and a brother-in-law, Fred Brengelman of Fresno, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
