Leroy Woeppel

LeRoy Woeppel, 86, of Greeley, formerly of Wolbach died Monday, August 9, 2010 at Greeley Care Home in Greeley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Greeley. The Reverend Delano Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
LeRoy was born June 29, 1924 to Gustave & Mattie (Divan) Woeppel at Hays Springs, Nebraska.
As a child, LeRoy moved with his parents to a farm north of Spalding. He received his education at School District #19 near Spalding. The family later moved to a farm north of Primrose, and then to a farm west of Cedar Rapids. LeRoy then moved with his family to a farm near Belgrade. They later moved to a farm southeast of Wolbach.
LeRoy farmed most of his life. In 1991 he moved to Greeley Care Home and lived there the rest of his life.
He is survived by cousins, including Rodger, and his wife Lorraine Woeppel of Ericson, NE.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorein Woeppel, and two brothers Duward and Merle Woeppel.
