Lenora Proehl, 81, of St. Paul died Tuesday, August 07, 2012 at her home in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Kati Salmons will officiate. Interment will be held at South Logan Cemetery north of St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Lenora was born October 25, 1930 in rural Tilden, Nebraska to Peter & Bessie (Nerly) Sandquist.
She attended high school at Newman Grove School where she graduated.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Proehl on September 28, 1957 in Denver, Colorado.
The couple moved to Nebraska and lived near St. Paul for several years and then lived at Wolbach. The couple moved back to St. Paul in 1976.
Lenora enjoyed her grandchildren and watching them in sports, playing cards, sewing and crocheting, crafts, going to garage sales, cooking in which she loved having people over for meals. She also liked fishing and camping as well as the enjoyment of a camping club.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul
Lenora is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phylis & Jay Petersen of St. Paul and Paula and Roger Imler of Grand Island; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie & Lucille Sandquist of Carroll, IA and Fred & Joann Sandquist of Oakdale, NE and a sister, Dorothy Hancock of St. Paul.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond on March 31, 2006; one son Phillip Proehl; one brother Wesley Sandquist; and two sisters, Doris Shelton and Evelyn Bustos.
