Lee Glidden, 90, of St. Paul died Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Lee's wishes were to be cremated.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul, Nebraska. A time to sign the book will be held from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Dunning Cemetery in Dunning, Nebraska.

Lee was born May 28, 1922 at Thomas County, Nebraska to Frank T. and Iva May (Rarick) Glidden.
He grew up on the family homestead in Thomas County, Nebraska. He attended county school and then graduated from Dunning High School in 1939.
He worked as a Bunkhouse Cowboy for several sand-hill ranches.
Lee enlisted into the United States Navy Reserves on January 20, 1943 as an aviation cadet and served as a fighter pilot of a carrier, Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on January 15, 1946 and returned to the Dunning area.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Platz on January 20, 1950 at Dunning, and one daughter joined two stepdaughters.
The family moved to Greeley County in 1966 and then to Howard County in 1973, where they made their home.
In 2006, the couple moved into the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul and the VFW Post 10752 of St. Paul.
Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He had a love for rodeos and especially calf roping, where he took family, friends and horses to the events. He also loved his family reunions and family get-togethers.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy & Ray Evans of Grand Island, NE and Ella & Danny McCray of St. Paul; four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy on March 22, 2007, a daughter Orilla Jensen, granddaughter Mindy Green, his brothers Verne, Jim, Jack and Jean "Jiggs" Glidden and a sister Marjorie Bednar.
