Lawrence “Larry” Stephen Kosmicki, 74 of Boelus, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at CHI Health - Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell, NE. Father Rayappa Konka and Father Tom Ryan will be presiding. Interment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Farwell.
Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. A rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery Association or to the family to be designated at a later date.
Larry was born on July 24, 1944 in Loup City, Nebraska to Steve & Alice (Lewandowski) Kosmicki. He grew up in Boelus and graduated from Boelus High School in 1962. He entered the U.S. Army National Guard on November 18, 1964 and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1970.
Larry was united in marriage to Christine Summers on June 20, 1970 in Ashton, NE. They raised 4 children on their farm north of Boelus. Larry was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed going to farm sales, sale barns, and tractor pulls. His hobbies included woodworking, watching Molly B. Polka on Saturday nights, Sunday morning drives, and attending his children’s and grandchildren's activities. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Christine; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori & Scott Bernt of Boelus and Stephanie & Garrod Luhn of Cairo; sons and daughters-in-law, John & Chandra Kosmicki of Boelus, and Robert & Angela Kosmicki of Palmer; grandchildren, Lauryn & Nolan Bernt of Boelus, Haley Luhn (Weston Poss) & Cody Luhn of Cairo, Rylee & Kyler Kosmicki of Boelus, and Kalen Weller & Kacie Kosmicki of Palmer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene & Richard Schmidt of Grand Island, Rose & Bill Dixson of St. Paul, JoAnn Oseka of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Judy Kosmicki; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Terri & Warren Carder of Johnson Lake, Jan & Calvin Chapman of Harlan, IA, Susan & Dennis Kay of Gering, Deb Kemper & Dave Waggoner of Kearney, James Summers of Grand Island, Nanette & Doyle Petersen of Burwell, Jolene Hodge of Bend, OR, Mary & Ray Doggett of Burwell; numerous nieces & nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfred Kosmicki; brother-in-law, Ray Oseka; and nephew, Matthew Doggett.
The family would like to thank all of their relatives and friends for all of the support and prayers during this very difficult time in their lives.
