Larry Charles Dean Pavlik, 66, of St. Paul formerly of Palmer died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home in St. Paul.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
A time to greet the family and sign the guestbook will be held on Friday, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Larry was born October 2, 1943 in St. Paul to Charles and Alice Pavlik.
He attended St. Paul Public School.
He was united in marriage to Margene Hathaway on June 3, 1961 in Fullerton. To this union three children were born, a daughter Deborah and two sons, Mark and Russell.
Larry was very active in his career choices and hobbies. He worked for the St. Paul Grain Elevator, the American Legion Club in Palmer, Palmer Furniture and funeral home. He finally retired from New Holland in Grand Island after 26 years of employment. He then worked for Mettenbrink Electric.
Larry enjoyed outdoor activities including picking wild asparagus, grilling, going pheasant hunting and traveling to the Niobrara State Park. He also liked to watch westerns and boxing on television, go dancing and go on casino trips.
He was a member of the Palmer United Methodist Church and the Palmer Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. He was a Nebraska football fanatic and enjoyed his family very much and loved to tell them jokes.
Survivors include his wife, Margene of St. Paul; his father, Charles of St. Paul, daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Wayne Kock of Cedar Rapids and their sons, John and his wife Emily, Jason and his significant other Tish, Justin and Joshua and his fiancé© Tonya; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark, Sr and Cheryl Pavlik of Central City and their sons, Mark, Jr. and Tyler; and Russell and Jennifer Pavlik of Grand Island and their two daughters, SaQuoia and Sierra, and a son, Shawn; and seven great-granddaughters and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Della and Stanley Wilson of Grand Island and Charlotte and Norm Jacobsen of St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice; step-mother, Georgia Mae; a sister Bonnie Calvin and a grandson, Zachary Pavlik.
