Kenneth Sack, 48, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Interment will be held in Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday with a vigil held at 7:30 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Ken was born May 7, 1965 at Grand Island to Martin and Doris (Dembowski) Sack.
He grew up and attended school at Fullerton and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1983.
After graduation, he worked on a hog farm near St. Paul. He was a self-employed automotive painter and worked in maintenance at Monfort's packing plant from 1988-1993.
Ken was united in marriage to April Powers on July 18, 1998 in Grand Island, Nebraska.
The couple lived in St. Paul and he worked in Grand Island. They opened a body shop called Sunset Auto-Body in St. Paul and specialized in restoration and classic car custom paint.
Ken received a career opportunity in 2006 in Durango, CO and the couple moved there. He worked at a custom paint shop for motorcycles for Harley Davidson shops in Durango, CO and Farmington, NM.
They moved back to Nebraska to be close to family.
Ken got another career opportunity in Glade, KS at Ron's Restoration Shop as a head painter. Shortly after, the couple moved back to Nebraska and made their home in Nebraska to be closer to family. Ken most recently worked at Anderson Ford in Grand Island as head painter.
Ken was a member of the NRCA (Nebraska Rod and Custom Association).
He enjoyed wood working, fishing, automotive custom painting and metal work, drawing and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife, April; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Jim & Sandy Sack of Fullerton and Don & Bev Sack of Dannebrog; a sister & brothers-in-law, Carol & Randy Williams and Ed Thompson all of St. Paul; many nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews and his mother-in-law, Barbara Shriner of Grand Island.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brothers, Frank & Thomas Sack, sister, Anne Thompson, nieces, Jennifer and Desiree Sack, Hope Thompson and nephew, Shawn Sack.
