Katherine A. (Siemers) Bader

Katherine Anne Bader, 92, formerly of Palmer, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer. Pastor John Doolittle will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer, Nebraska.

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer is assisting the family.

Katherine was born in Chapman, Nebraska to Louie and Anne (Rauert) Siemers on September 3, 1929.

She attended schools in rural Hall County and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School. She met Donald Bader and they were married on September 26, 1948, in Palmer, Nebraska. They farmed in the Palmer area all their married life. Don passed at the age of 61. Katherine continued to live on the farm until entering Matelyn Retirement Community several years ago. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of St. Paul.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Steven Bader of Palmer and Roger Bader of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son-in-law, Gary Berner of Kansas City, Kansas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Louie & Anne Siemers; daughter, Nancy Berner; grandson, Staff Sgt. Dan Bader; daughter-in-law, Theresa M. Bader; sisters, Irene Minor and Lucille Beck; and brother, Bob Siemers.
